I have been teaching and supporting people in confidence and techniques to advance their artistic skills and connect to the wider world of art and interconnected subjects since 1997.
My priorities are to expand both one's field of knowledge of art, aesthetics, and artists, as well as, their personal vision and creativity. And have fun doing it!
Private lessons $25 per hour. (art is not just for kids ; )
Group sessions- $100 for 6 weeks of 2.5 hr. sessions (preregistered/prepaid),
or $20 per session if paying cash at the door. Second Student per family - 25% discount

Introduction to Art -Session One- Supplement for Home School Student Education by accredited & licensed Pre-K through 12th Grade Art Educator
In this six week course students will learn about the Elements of Shape, and how to look at any object as parts of shape that can be understood by breaking them down into parts. Learning how to look at and process things differently in the brain, and move into more realistic representations of objects through drawing. This course will introduce basic art skills, elements of art and 3D that help students make their drawings more lifelike and convincing. Classes will be fun, interesting, involve students' personal interests, and introduce influential drawing artists from the past. We will do draw alongs, quick draws, pre-sketch ideas, and final works.
Other classes, topics and sessions will be available, but this class is a prerequisite to more advanced classes.

Class Two-Color Wheel, Color Families, Mixing Colors, Character Development
Class Three-Creative Problem Solving, Color Families, Artist- Andy Goldsworthy(Sculpture/Photo)
Class Four-Realistic to Symbolic Rep, Tlingit Totem Animals, Artist- Nathan Jackson(Tlingit Carver)
Class Five- Creating Tints and Shades, Monochromatic Painting, Artist- Sandy Skogland(Installation)
Class Six-Free Choice-Bring Idea of your choice, and use material of your choice
Advanced Art--(Individualized)
This six week session is available to students who have taken the Intro to Art course, or have been approved for the course by portfolio preview. It will continue to introduce effective drawing techniques in contrast, depth, value and more while allowing the student to pursue subject matter that is most intriguing to them personally. New artists will be introduced according to student interest. This is a small group session for students who are self-motivated, interested, and would like feedback from peers who are also very interested in developing their artistic skills.
